Between March and August 2012, participants in the MDE portion of the Mid-Atlantic Dray Truck Replacement Program replaced ten pre-2004 dray trucks serving the Port of Baltimore with trucks model-year 2008 and newer.  Publicity and marketing strategies were crucial elements in reaching the target audience, especially given the accelerated time frame for the project.   Picture of the Port of Baltimore

MARAMA had superb partners in the Environmental Finance Center (EFC), the Maryland Motor Truck Association (MMTA), and the Maryland Port Authority (MPA) which together with the MDE advised on, and initiated numerous publicity and public outreach activities during the project period in order to inform the Maryland trucking community of the Mid-Atlantic Dray Truck Replacement Program grant opportunity.

MARAMA supported this project with a Memorandum of Agreement from the MDE.  Truck owners provided the remaining funding.

Total cost:  $546,940 ($200,000 grant funded)
